As the calendar turns to a new year, we often wonder what the months ahead hold. Some may be filled with great joy and others may bring the most difficult times we will ever face. On January first, we simply don’t know yet.
But as children of God, there is one thing we know and can count on every year – our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is faithful and unchanging. No matter what is ahead for each of us, the Lord has promised to be there every step of the way with His strength, hope and goodness. In Hebrews 13:8 it says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.” That is a promise to cling to every year.
When I think about these truths and an individual whose life reflects the call and faithfulness of God to sustain in every season of life, I can’t help but think about Libbi Perry Stuffle. This year, Libbi celebrates 55 years in full time ministry. We have featured her story on our January cover to honor the life she has given to God through Gospel Music. Her story is one that is honest and full of encouragement. It is our hope, as we start this year, that we would reflect on the faithfulness of God through Libbi’s story. For as she often says, “If God can do it for me, He can do it for you.”
And that’s a promise worth living for.
