Grace is defined as “the unmerited favor of God.” Thank God for His grace! None of us deserve it. Yes, it’s true that our righteousness is as filthy rags in God’s sight. I understand that. I agree with that wholeheartedly; however, I also know that life is the sum of our choices. In other words, how we choose to live matters. The Bible teaches this universal principle: whatever you sow, you will also reap. With that being said, is it possible to live life in such a way to attract the favor of God? I think so!
Favor is a powerful force that distinguishes men and determines outcomes. Many work hard yet struggle endlessly, while others seem to experience ease, access, and acceleration. The difference is often supernatural favor. Psalm 5:12: “For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” This verse describes favor as a shield, meaning it surrounds, protects, and gives advantage beyond human effort.
A greater future is not achieved by strength or skill alone but by divine advantage. When God’s favor is activated, closed doors open, delayed matters receive approval, and opposition loses its power. Favor causes you to be helped where others are ignored.

First of all, we must understand that supernatural favor is a GIFT from God. Favor is not earned by human merit but released by divine grace. It is God’s deliberate expression of kindness that elevates and distinguishes His people.
- True favor originates from God and, when He releases it, no man can stop it, and no one can withdraw it. Psalm 5:12
- Favor separates the righteous. God’s favor marks His people for blessing and distinction. Proverbs 12:2
- Favor provides divine covering. God’s favor functions as a shield that protects and preserves destiny. Psalm 84:11
- Favor accelerates destiny. God’s favor can lift a person suddenly to prominence. Genesis 39:21
Secondly, righteous living activates Supernatural favor. Favor responds to alignment with God’s ways. God releases favor upon those who walk in obedience to His Word and integrity.
- Righteousness attracts favor. Mercy, truth, and upright living draw divine approval. Proverbs 3:3-4
- Obedience sustains favor. Continuous obedience preserves what favor brings. Deut 28:1-2
- Humility multiplies favor. God resists the proud but honors the humble. Proverbs 18:12
- Faithfulness preserves favor. Stewardship in little things keeps favor active. Luke 16:10
The Lord has been truly gracious to us. When God has favored me with things and opportunities, some have had a problem and openly questioned, “Why or how did you deserve this?” My answer is always the same, “I didn’t ask for it. I didn’t earn it. God did it and He deserves all the glory!”
