By Josh Singletary Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a place you have to experience at least once in your lifetime. Scenic highways, great restaurants, fun attractions, music, nature – LOTS of nature. There are also many large events and the Gatlinburg Convention Center is home to many of them. Now, if you’ve ever been to Gatlinburg, or even the convention center, you’ve noticed the parking situation is, well, interesting – there is a lot of walking to be done. However, the city has made it work and it really isn’t as bad as you may think. If you’ve been to see a…
The Gospel Music Roadshow had the privilege of being at Greater Vision’s Great Smokies Praisefest the first of November in Sevierville, Tennessee. The event began as an outdoor sing in a field 35 years ago and now is hosted at the beautiful First Baptist Church in Sevierville. It is a worship experience wrapped up in three days with Believers who come ready to be blessed year after year. In this “On The Road with GMR,” we wanted to recount some of those moments and blessings. Great Smokies Praisefest kicked off on a Monday night with music from The Dumplin Valley…
It’s a random Friday, Saturday, or Sunday—one of the many “weekend days” I spend away from home (all but four or five a year, in fact). I usually wake up around 9:30 or 10:00 AM. For context: a typical coach has two air conditioning systems. One is built into the vehicle…
Over the last couple of years, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to interview young Southern Gospel artists for our Southern Gospel Forward Podcast/Livestream. Our genre is blessed with an abundance of talented young people, and one of today’s most talented young artists is Kennedy Hayes of the Mylon Hayes Family. Kennedy is a fan favorite not only for her amazing vocal talent, but also for the way that she represents the Lord with poise, class, and integrity. Her kindness and warmth is enduring to fans of all ages. I recently had a conversation with Kennedy, and I thoroughly enjoyed leading…
Congratulations to the Gospel Music Roadshow on their inaugural publication. We are thrilled that our friends north of the 49th Parallel can join in this exciting new endeavor. Southern Gospel Music is experiencing a wonderful resurgence in Canada following its abrupt decline in 2020. Many of our local artists are traveling and sharing the Gospel, while some of our beloved American artists are returning and being welcomed with open arms. We are all part of the same Heavenly Kingdom, united as brothers and sisters in Christ. Southern Gospel Music is too important not to share, and it holds a special…
